Reporting into the Sales and Marketing organization, the Regional Sales Engineer is a customer-facing technical sales role that supports all aspects of the sales cycle from prospecting to close and ultimately ensuring customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include supporting both end-users and distribution partners, developing distribution relationships, and developing a solid pipeline of opportunities to drive business growth.

Currently, Dapra is searching for qualified sales engineers in the following region:

  • Northeast (CT, RI, MA, NH, VT, ME)

Responsibilities:

  • Drive new sales opportunities and grow existing sales within assigned region through consultative sales approach to meet and exceed revenue objectives.
  • Provide remote and machine side technical support to both end-users and distributors for indexable milling tools, including but not limited to: identification of cutter application/style, carbide geometry and grade, and recommendations of speeds & feeds for applications in a variety of materials and tool types.
  • Conduct sales calls individually as well as in collaboration with distribution partners to keep customers well informed about the latest technology developments and product innovations.
  • Maintain and document pipeline opportunities, account activities, and sales forecasting reports through CRM application.
  • Provide feedback related to market dynamics: competitors, end-user needs, regional trends.
  • Participate in Vendor Days and trade shows, as required.
  • Negotiate pricing, programs, and other agreements.

Education and Experience:

  • BA/BS Degree and 5+ years industrial sales experience or equivalent experience in CNC production environment.
  • CNC milling experience required, programming a plus.
  • Knowledge of material properties, cutting tool selection, and applications preferred.
  • Demonstrated success through proactive sales approach and a track record of success a plus.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to take challenges head-on.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Strong computer skills preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
  • Willingness to travel up to 85% of the time, including the possibility of overnight travel (local and regional).
  • Must possess a legal driver's license and be able to legally drive in the U.S.
