The Sales Engineer role is a key member of the Dapra Marking Solutions sales team and is the primary customer-facing lead responsible for sales activities in a designated region.

Currently, Dapra is searching for qualified sales engineers in the following regions:

  • Mid-West (OH, MI, IN, IL, WI)
  • Mid-South (TX, OK, LA)

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a customer partner to identify opportunities that help improve their business outcomes by introducing advanced marking solutions, including laser, automation, and integrated solutions.
  • Prospect new business through cold calls, warm leads, and collaboration with the sales office team to exceed monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales targets.
  • Provide face-to-face consultations to communicate the value of Dapra and its solutions through technical presentation or solution demonstrations (in-person or virtual).
  • Develop, present, and close proposals for specific customer requirements, including requests ranging from discrete solutions to integrated systems.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of flexibility and a solutions-based approach to address the challenges customers present.
  • Travel to customer locations multiple days a week and work successfully in a wide variety of manufacturing environments.
  • Maintain and document pipeline opportunities, account activities, and sales forecasting reports.
  • Contribute to the collection of market data, including trends, customer feedback, and competitor analysis.
  • Any additional responsibilities as deemed necessary by management.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 5+ years experience in customer-facing selling or technical roles with capital equipment or industrial segments.
  • Experience with marking or laser systems highly preferred.
  • Previous experience in the Automotive, Aerospace, and Medical industries a plus.
  • Demonstrated success through a proactive sales approach and a track record of success.
  • Experience with Lean and/or Six Sigma principles.
  • Knowledge of robotics, system integration, conveyors, or PLC-based controls is a plus.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Driven and self-motivated
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and insurance.
  • Willingness to travel 75% of the time, including the possibility of overnight travel.
  • Ability to lift and carry 35 - 85 lbs. of equipment in and out of vehicles.
  • Must have use of a personal vehicle. A larger vehicle, such as an SUV, may be required.
  • Strong presentation skills.
